SUNPRO Expands Its Services throughout Indiana, Kentucky & Southwest Ohio with the opening of a New Cincinnati Regional Office

SUNPRO is pleased to announce the opening of its eleventh office in Middletown, OH (near Cincinnati), which will expand SUNPRO’s award-winning service throughout Southwest Ohio, Eastern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.

SALT LAKE CITY—Savage continues to expand its environmental service capabilities, announcing today that it has purchased EnviroServe, a specialized waste transportation and disposal services company with offices in Cleveland, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia. EnviroServe operates throughout the United States and Canada, providing remediation, testing, removal, packaging, transportation and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous, universal and recyclable wastes and materials.

Affiliate of SUNPRO Expands International Operations with New Querétaro, Mexico Petroleum Terminal

As part of Savage Companies, SUNPRO, welcomes the announcement of a new petroleum transload terminal in central Mexico that will be operated by a subsidiary of Savage and commence operations in January 2018. Located near the city of Querétaro, the terminal is served by the Kansas City Southern de Mexico railroad and provides access to strategic ports and U.S. based refinery centers.

The Querétaro terminal will provide an optimal location for transferring and storing refined petroleum products. Initially, the terminal will serve manifest rail volumes, transferring products directly from railcars into trucks. Following permitting approvals, Savage plans to add tank storage and fixed facilities for high-speed rail unloading, product blending and truck loading. At full build out the terminal will handle unit train volumes.

Fort Worth, TX BNSF ICS320 Training

SUNPRO representatives recently attended the BNSF ICS320 training class in Fort Worth, Texas. This was a three-day BNSF Incident Management Team (IMT) course consisting of an overview of the concepts, principles and protocols of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS).

This training included incorporation of railroad-relevant materials and case studies exemplifying the adaptation of NIMS ICS to railroad emergency response activities and objectives. The team-building training utilized derailment scenarios designed to engage our local, regional and corporate BNSF IMT consisting of Hazmat, Environmental, Safety, Claims, and Public Affairs staff as well as local and regional incident management contractors and consultants.

SUNPRO was one of 9 national response companies asked to attend the training. Upon completion of the derailment scenario, attendees were asked to complete a final exam to insure compliance and understanding of the NIMS ICS organization. SUNPRO is now part of the BNSF National Incident Command Team available to respond to large incidents requiring the activation of the Incident Management Team.

SUNPRO is proud to announce the opening of its tenth office in Edwardsville, Illinois, which will expand SUNPRO’s award-winning service throughout Central Illinois and Eastern Missouri.

The new location is being spearheaded by St. Louis Regional Operations Manager Eric Hutchison, with the support of the SUNPRO Midwest Operations District. The office is immediately available for both emergency and planned projects involving spill remediation, railcar inspections and transfers, vacuum truck operations, sampling services, hazardous material handling and more.

“Our goal has always been and will continue to provide the very best service to our existing clients and locations where their operations can benefit from our presence.” Says Scott Denson, SUNPRO Client Services Manager. “Additionally, once SUNPRO opens in a region, it has been a standard that the operations grow as a result of repeat business and recommendations from our customers.”

Canadian Pacific Railway Award

At the invitation of the Canadian Pacific Railway, SUNPRO participated in a Contractors Conference held in Minneapolis on April 5, 2017. Rosemary Malatesta, a SUNPRO Invoicing Supervisor from the North Canton Office and Jon Bush, Regional Manager of the SUNPRO Galesburg Office attended and were awarded with a plaque of appreciation for the “Hard Work and Dedicated Services Contributing to the Success of the Canadian Pacific Emergency Response Team.

SUNPRO provides environmental cleanup, tankcar transfers/flaring/ cleaning and AAR tankcar repair services to the Canadian Pacific Railway. Due to their geographic location, the SUNPRO Midwest Regional offices located in Schererville and Galesburg offices are well situated to service Canadian Pacific. Services are both planned and emergency response, and are provided in railyards or along tracks or spurs on an “as needed” –“on call” basis. Over half of the 23 individual projects performed for Canadian Pacific last year were emergency response services.
