Situation: One of our regular customers, a contract railroad, experienced an unusual emergency response scenario with national public visibility. Operator error at a switching location in a service yard adjacent to a residential neighborhood resulted in a locomotive jumping the tracks and striking a private home. The crash drew national news media attention, heightening scrutiny of railroad safety.
